El Portet, near Moraira on the Spanish Costa Blanca.
Originally a small farming and fishing village Moraira today is a delightful holiday resort based around the marina. The town centre still retains its traditional character and there is no high-rise development. The main town is set in the valley with most holiday villas built in typical 'Spanish pueblo' style on the hillsides with a pleasant southerly view towards the Mediterranean.

The town centre has a good choice of restaurants, cafes and bars with more along the coast. Being a coastal town with its own fishing fleet and a strong agricultural tradition various seafood dishes with fresh vegetables feature in the local cuisine. The main beach Playa la Ampolla is a good-size and gently shelving making it safe for children. There is another smaller beach at El Portet with soft sand and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Both beaches have beach bars and restaurants which are open late. Along the coast you will find many other coves and bays. Some watersports are on offer in Moraira with more available in nearby Calpe
El Portet is located approximately 1 kilometre east of Moraira marina.
The village of Moraira is situated approximately 77 kilometres east of Alicante airport and 95 kilometres west of Valencia airport.
The motorway 'Autopista' is a superb highway but as it is a toll road it does carry a small charge.
Fun for all the family......on the beautiful beaches of Moraira
Only one thing now remains - to kick off your shoes and walk over the soft white sand of the beach into the crystal clear water. This coastal strip of Moraira has everything; the beaches are not over-populated, and you even have a choice of sand, rocks or pebbles!
